Azerbaijan sees 2013 grain yield to reach 2.7 million tonnes
The Agriculture Ministry of Azerbaijan predicts the country's grain harvest to hit at least the level of 2.7 million-2.8 million tonnes in 2013.
According to Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov, as of nine months, around 2.763 million tonnes of grain was collected in the country, of which 1.844 million falls to wheat.
He said that it is good that the grain yield this year increased by 1.6% and wheat by 1.7% in 2012.
"These figures are positive," he said. "After large farms start working we will be able to produce grain in the volumes that would cover all the demand in the country."
