Indonesian 2010 soy output predicted to fall
Indonesia's soy production is expected to fall by 7.13% as farmers used farmland to planting more rice, which may lead to higher import of the grain.
The state statistics bureau said Monday (Nov 1) that the country's soy production is estimated to drop 69,492 tonnes from last year's 974,512 tonnes down to 905,020 tonnes.
On the other hand, corn production is forecasted to rise this year to 17.84 million tonnes compared with the previous year's output of 17.63 million tonnes.
The statistics bureau makes three projections of food crops output in a year.
