Former EU health commissioner joins Alltech

Alltech announced on Nov. 1 that David Byrne, former European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, has joined its board as a non-executive director.

In a press release, the company said the appointment of Byrne strengthens Alltech's commitment to global traceability and quality in the feed industry.

The company said Byrne was instrumental in the establishment of European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and European Center for Disease Control (ECDC).

Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech said Alltech has always been committed to feed safety, quality and traceability. The appointment of David Byrne signifies that commitment, he added.
