FC Stone pegs US corn crop at 10.808 billion bushel; Soy at 3.268 billion bushel

 

 

FC Stone Wednesday released its US production estimates as of Nov 1, predicting a 2006/07 corn crop of 10.808 billion bushels and a soybean crop of 3.268 billion bushels.

 

The corn crop projection used an average yield of 152.1 bushels per acre, and the soybean crop was forecast at an average yield of 43.9 bushels an acre, FC Stone said.

 

On Sep 28, FC Stone estimated an 11.072 billion-bushel corn crop with a yield of 154.2 bushels per acre and a 3.266 billion-bushel soybean crop with a yield of 44.2 bushels per acre.

 

The US Department of Agriculture is scheduled to release its latest US corn and soybean production estimates Nov 9.

 

In October, the USDA estimated corn production at 10.905 billion bushels using a yield of 153.5 bushels per acre, and a soybean crop of 3.189 billion bushels based on a 42.8 bushel-per-acre yield.

 

Last year, corn production measured 11.112 billion bushels, and soybean output came in at 3.086 billion bushels.
