Drop in China's September fishmeal imports

 

 

China imported 82,784 tonnes of fishmeal in September, down 51 percent from August, and a 50 percent fall from the same period last year.

 

Imports in September came mostly from:

 

Peru: 50,371 tonnes;

 

US:  11,081 tonnes;

 

Chile: 9,456 tonnes.

 

For the period from January to September 2006, China's fishmeal imports totalled 877,191 tonnes, down 37 percent on-year.
