Russia culls 5,000 poultry in Altai region
About 5,000 poultry were culled in Russia's Altai region, following latest bird flu outbreaks in some districts.
58 poultry recently died of bird flu on 10 farms in Gryaznovo village, Tyumentsevsky district, and local poultry were culled as a result.
Pokrovka village in Bayevsky district was also hit by the disease, when 65 infected hens, ducks, geese and turkey cocks from eight farms died there.
Both villages also underwent disinfections while sanitary posts were set up.
So far, Russia has seen bird flu outbreaks in 10 regions, and 19 more were under suspicion, authorities said.
