Brazil's October soybean exports nearly double from last year
 

 

Brazilian soybean exports totalled 1.79 million tonnes in October, 95 percent higher than the 920,600 tonnes in the same month last year, according to preliminary figures issued by the Foreign Trade Secretariat on Tuesday.

 

October soybean export revenues increased to US$441.2 million compared with the year before when the revenues reached US$240.4 million.

 

Soymeal exports reached 1.10 million tonnes in October, down 19 percent from the 1.36 million tonnes exported the year before. Shipments increased from 1.02 million tonnes in September.

 

October's soyoil exports totalled 199,400 tonnes, up from 89,400 tonnes exported in October last year and up from the 113,600 tonnes shipped in September.

 

Brazil is the world's no. 2 soybean producer.
