Price summary

Prices remained stable.

Ex-factory prices of 50-percent content choline chloride in Shandong were mostly at RMB4,950-5,000/tonne. In Hebei and Tianjin, prices were in the range of RMB4,600-4,800/tonne.

Prices of 60-percent content choline chloride were in the range of RMB5,600-5,750/tonne and RMB5,300-5,500/tonne in Shandong and  Hebei respectively.

Market analysis

Demand for choline chloride was limited as aquaculture production continued to decrease while livestock feed consumption was slow. However, as several producers in Hebei halted operation amid stricter environmental regulations, low supplies underpinned the prices of choline chloride.

Aqua feed demand will shrink further, particularly in the north, as the climates turn colder. With demand waning, choline chloride market will be under pressure in the coming period even though production reduction in Hebei decimates supply.
