Ukraine's milling grain shortfall to top two million tonnes

As of to date, milling grain deficit in Ukraine totals over two million tonnes and is to increase further, stated Mikhail Stadnik, the Chairman of the Presidium of the All Ukrainian Bakers Association.

Ukraine faces the problems with milling grain stocks. The imposed grain export quotas argue about the fact, stated Stadnik.

According to the Chairman who is also at the same time the Chairman of the Directors Board of "Stiomi-Holding" Ltd., the Black Sea region countries had the deficit of milling wheat production at the level of 42% in the current year.

The position of the All Ukrainian Bakers Association is the only one-to provide flour volumes from the Agrarian Fund to the bakeries, producing 50% and over of the products, for the price situation stabilisation on the market of bakery products, said Stadnik.

Ukraine's Ministry of Agrarian Policy decreased the grain export forecast by 8% from Ukraine in 2010/2011 MY to the level of 12.7 million tonnes. According to the recent data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, grains production will total 38.6 million tonnes in Ukraine in the current year.
