China expects fourth consecutive bumper harvest
China is expecting a grain output growth for the fourth consecutive year, an official with the State Grain Administration disclosed at a trade fair in Harbin on Tuesday (November 1, 2007)
State support for policies friendly to grain production have motivated farmers to produce more grain this year, Zeng Liying, deputy chief of the State Grain Administration said at the 2007 Heilongjiang Golden Autumn Grain Trade Fair.
China's summer grain output in 2007 increased 1.3 percent, while the country's upcoming autumn harvest is expected to report a growth for the fourth consecutive year, according to the State Statistics Administration.
