Russia harvests 84.3 million tonnes grain to Oct 31 

Russia harvested 84.3 million tonnes of grain to Oct 31 on 99 percent of the total area to be harvested, the agriculture ministry said Monday.

The amount of grain harvested to date was 1.6 million tonnes more than on the same date last year.

The average yield to date was 2 tonnes a hectare, unchanged from last year.

The wheat harvest to date was 50.8 million tons, 6 percent more than a year ago, with the average yield of 2.05 tonnes a hectare, 0.03 tonnes more than on the same date last year.

The corn harvest to date was 2.45 million tonnes, 500,000 tonnes more than on the same date last year, with the average yield of 4.43 tonnes a hectare, 0.06 tonnes more than in 2004.
