USDA: Oman bans poultry and products from eight countries
Oman has banned imports of live poultry and non-poultry, their products and remains from countries that have declared detection of the H5 Avian flu virus such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania and Iran, according to a US Department of Agriculture attach¨¦ report posted Monday on the Foreign Agricultural Service Web site.
The Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries in Muscat, Oman, is closely monitoring developments around the world of the high pathogenic avian influenza H5N1. To date the Ministry has issued four decrees banning import of live birds and their products from eight countries that had declared detection of the H5N1 virus.
