Romania’s Agricola Bacau reports record poultry sales

Romanian meat producer Agricola Bacau increased its sales in the first nine months of this year by 4%, to about EUR 105 million (US$132 million), 60% of which was generated by poultry sales.

The increase in poultry sales rose by 8% in dollar terms, and in terms of volume, the growth was 13%. The third quarter brought in a record 9,900 tonnes of poultry sales, 3,500 tonnes in September alone, said Grigore Horoi, president of Agricola.

The group also sells eggs, cold cuts, salami, semi-cooked and ready-meal products. It managed to increase its ready-meal sales by 18% thanks to higher exports, mainly to France and Denmark.
