China issues live pig exports quota of 1.88 million for 2008

China has issued a live pig export quota of 1.88 million heads for 2008, said the Ministry of Commerce Tuesday (October 30).

The 2008 export quota for live cattle and live fowls are 57,200 heads and 13.4 million heads respectively, according to a statement published on the ministry's Web site.

These animal exports quotas are for exports to Hongkong and Macau, said the ministry.
