Shrinking aqua feed demand decimates China choline chloride sales

Prices moved lower during the period in review.

Choline chloride usage continued to decrease with demand from the aquaculture sector waning. Meanwhile, the supplies of ethylene oxide increased lately, prompting buyers of choline chlorine reduce procurements in anticipation of lower prices amid higher output.

Ex-factory prices of 50-percent content choline chloride by major producers in Shandong were at RMB5,800/tonne.

With output poised to expand and demand falling due to the ending of aquaculture season, there is nothing fundamentally supportive to underpin choline chloride prices. Prices will likely drop more significantly in the coming period.
