ECO Animal Health oral powder for pigs approved for Europe
ECO Animal Health Group, an animal feed and health products manufacturer, has received approval for a new concentrated form of its Aivlosin oral powder for pigs throughout Europe.
The approval from the European Medicine Agency (EMEA) will help the company establish a foothold in major pig markets such as Germany and Denmark, where oral powders are used in preference to licensed premixes. The approval is also an important step in the company's continuing development of Aivlosin as a global veterinary product.
The new formulation will treat and prevent swine enzootic pneumonia and swine dysentery as well as porcine proliferative enteropathy for pig farms of all sizes.
The new concentrated form with compact packaging and lower transportation costs would help reduce manufacturing and distributing costs, said the company.
Aivlosin has been approved for use in pigs and poultry in Europe, South Africa, Japan, Asia and South America, and it is expected to receive approvals for use in pigs in the US.
London-based ECO Animal Health holds more than 600 marketing authorisations in over 50 countries, and has developed strong relationships with a number of distribution partners globally.
