Cherkizovo opens two poultry breeding facilities

Russian poultry firm Cherkizovo Group has opened two breeding facilities at its Vasilievskaya poultry factory in the Penza region, marking the completion of a large scale construction project.

The Vertunovka site within the Vasilievskaya plant consists of 44 bird houses separated into four zones, each of which has been adapted in-line with the highest Western standards of poultry production, Cherkizovo said.

Production capacity now totals about 60 million incubatory eggs per year.

The facility's operational capacity is now nearly unrivalled in both Russia and Europe, according to CEO Sergey Mikhailov.
