Production costs for China's meat and seafood rise across the board
In the first three quarters of 2007, China's live pig production price increased by 40.2 percent on-year, the only animal husbandry product to see an above 20-percent rise in costs.
Production costs for cattle and poultry were up 11.4 percent and 15.7 percent respectively, according to the latest information released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
The production prices of dairy products rose by 2.4 percent during the period.
Meanwhile, the production price of China's marine products increased by 11.1 percent on-year in the first three quarters of 2007.
The price of marine fish and shellfish increased by 10.9 percent and 5 percent respectively.
Prices of freshwater species rose 3.2 percent, with the freshwater fish price up by 2.4 percent and the freshwater shrimp and crab price up by 8.4 percent.
