Milk production by Finland's Valio hindered in Russia

Russian authorities stated that traces of antibiotics had been detected in a batch of lactose-free milk by Valio, just when the company is increasing its production in Russia, the Helsinki Times reports.
This comes after a strategic re-think by Valio following the import embargo by Russia . The company has already introduced the first cartons of Russian milk to the shelves of grocery stores in St. Petersburg.
"We'll expand our product range inside the borders because we must distribute the risks," said Mika Koskinen, the director of Valio's operations in Russia.
The test results cannot be accurate, according to Koskinen. "We have asked the authorities to re-conduct the tests," he said.
Koskinen refused to speculate on whether Valio is being ousted from the Russian market.
