Marel appoints new CFO

 

Marel has appointed Linda Jonsdottir as the company's chief financial officer (CFO).

 

Erik Kaman, who was CFO since 2008, will be assisting Jonsdottir until March 1, 2015, to ensure a smooth transition.

 

Jonsdottir has been Marel's director of treasury and investor relations since May 2009.

 

Before joining the company, she worked in treasury and financing for Eimskip, Burðarás and Straumur Investment Bank, and has served as board member in the Enterprise Investment Fund (Framtakssjóður Íslands) since 2010.

 

Jonsdottir holds a Master of Science degree in finance and an economic degree in business administration.

 

Marel has also named Audbjorg Olafsdottir corporate director of investor relations and communications.

 

Bjarki Bjornsson will be made corporate director of treasury and financing.

 

Olafsdottir was previously part of the European Union Delegation to Iceland and a journalist with Reuters and the Icelandic Financial News.

 

She joined Marel in 2013 as a specialist in investor relations. She holds a Master of Arts degree in international economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.

 

Bjornsson joined Marel in 2011 as a specialist in treasury. He holds a Master of Science degree in investment management and another in business administration.

 

He previously worked for SP-Fjarmognun as a treasury manager.
