Chinese methionine sellers stand firm amid tight supply
Prices of methionine were unchanged during the week ending October 28.
As supplies were tight, distributors of methionine held prices firm confidently over the past week even though demand remained slow.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine stayed in the range of RMB25.50-26.50/kg.
China's livestock producers, in particular poultry farmers, are extremely cautious as new cases of H7N9 bird flu are discovered. Consequently, demands for methionine are unlikely to be strong in the near term.
