Russia reports another ASF outbreak

 

 

The Russian veterinary authorities have reported yet another outbreak of African swine fever in the country.

 

The World Ogranisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. on October 27. According to the report, the outbreak took place at a farm in the Krasnodar region.

 

The ASF outbreak occured on October 21, affecting a total of 6,987 swine found susceptible, out of which 20 were identified as infected. Out of the 20 affected animals, six died and the remaining 14 were destroyed.

 

The source of the outbreak remains to date unidentified.
