Tajik grain growers have harvested 96% of this year's target which is about 515,000 tonnes of grains from 255,000 hectares by October 26, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).
This year, more than 300,000 hectares have been allocated to grain cultivation, including 210,000 hectares sown with wheat. To-date, grain growers have gathered wheat from 195,000 hectares, which is 93% of the target, the source at a MoA said.
According to him, this year's average grain yields have stood at 20.8 tonnes/hectare.
Sughd grain growers have allocated 100,000 hectares to grain cultivation this year and they have gathered 72,000 tonnes from 62,000 hectares to this day.
Grain growers in the southern Khatlon province have allocated more than 136,000 hectares to gain cultivation this year and they have gathered some 330,000 tonnes from 135,000 hectares by October 26.
Districts subordinate to the centre have yielded more than 103,000 tonnes of grains from 51,000 hectares by October 26. In all, 58,000 hectares of lands in districts subordinate to the centre have been allocated to grain cultivation this year.
In Gorno Badakhshan, 6,374 hectares of lands have been allocated to grain cultivation this year and local farmers have yielded more than 8,000 tonnes of grains from some 6,000 hectares to this day.
