Malaysia to Increase Ceiling Price of Dressed Chicken
Malaysia will raise the ceiling price for dressed chicken by 11% during the coming festive season. Most areas will be affected, except Labuan, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.
From the previous cost of RM 5.40, the ceiling price for dressed chicken (with leg, head, liver and gizzard) will now be RM 6.
Other items in the new list of 17 controlled items include local beef, buffalo meat from India, local mackerel, chicken eggs (Grades A, B and C), long beans and red chillies.
The new ceiling prices will be effective from next Thursday to Nov 21.
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shafie Apdal announced the prices at his ministry yesterday.
