Methionine Prices in China Remain Stable Early This Week (October 27, 2003)

Methionine market in China early this week was relatively stable, with market prices remain mostly unchanged compared to last weekend's prices. Current offer prices for powder methionine stayed at the RMB28.0/kg level, with general transacted prices averaging between RMB27.0-27.5/kg. Transacted prices for large purchases were still hovering at around RMB26.8/kg.

As for liquid methionine, prices were also mostly stable early this week. Currently, general transacted prices ranged between RMB22.0-22.5/kg. Compared to current transacted prices, quotations issued by distributors were relatively high. This clearly indicated the strong intention of importers and traders to bring prices further up.
