Canada's 2012-13 rapeseed harvest forecast down
Forecast for Canada's 2012-13 (August-July) rapeseed production and exports has been reduced by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC).
Due to downward correction in the yield to 1.58 tonnes per hectare from 1.84 tonnes, the 2012 harvest estimate is now 13.4 million tonnes, down from 15.4 million. The lower output reduces the 2012-13 export projection to 7.2 million tonnes from 8.8 million and ending stocks to 450,000 tonnes from 675,000.
