Sloten B.V launches new Nuklospray Yoghurt pre-weaning solution for piglets

Press Release

Sloten B.V. has launched Nuklospray Yoghurt as the new pre-weaning solution, to keep more piglets with the sow.

Nuklospray Yoghurt has been tested extensively. Trial farms show an average increase of one piglet per litter. Additional feeding with Nuklospray Yoghurt from birth until weaning can yield around EUR60 (US$83.86) per sow per year.

This growth profit is gained through higher vitality, reduced mortality, increased weaning weight of more than 500 grams and a smoother transition to solid feed.

The litter size of sows will also be increased substantially. Now, litters of more than 14 piglets are no exception. A sow with 14 teats is not able to feed all piglets sufficiently. Milk production will be too low to fully exploit the piglets' growth potential. If no measures are taken, the piglets will thus suffer a deficit.

Additional feeding with Nuklospray Yoghurt immediately following the colostrum period is instantly applicable to every farm. It is the solution to keep more piglets with the sow.

Nuklospray Yoghurt is distinguished by its rich composition and its specific yoghurt form. It contains more dry matter than regular milk replacers, providing piglets with more energy from day one.

Therefore, the need for artificial and foster sows are reduced. Piglets also grow better. This results in an increased weaning weight of over 500 grammes per piglet.

Because the piglets consume yoghurt in addition to sow's milk, they soon become used to solid feed, making a smooth transition to it - both before and after weaning.
