New outbreak of bird flu among poultry in central China
A new outbreak of bird flu among chickens and ducks in central China has killed 545 birds and prompted authorities to destroy 2,487 others, the government reported.
The outbreak occurred in a village in Hunan province, the government's top veterinary bureau said in a report dated Tuesday and posted on the website of the Paris-based World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The outbreak occurred Saturday, the report said.
