China lysine prices rebound on higher import costs, tighter supplies

Lysine prices moved higher during the week ending October 24.

Prices of imported lysine surged due to the recent depreciation of renminbi, prompting local producers to lift prices as well. Moreover, one producer halted operation after mid-October for two weeks, hence limiting the supplies lysine.

Price quotes of 70-percent lysine rose to the range of RMB5-5.50/kg.

RMB1=US$0.1490 (Oct 11)
