Informa shows updated estimates for US 2013 planted grain, oilseed acreage
In the marketing year 2013, US planted grain and oilseed acreage's estimates have been updated by INFORMA Economics with soy area higher than its previous forecast, corn largely unchanged and wheat down.
All three crop acreages are likely to be significantly up on the 2012 season, however.
Corn area for the forthcoming planting season has been pegged at 97.5 million acres, unchanged from Informa's September estimate but 590,000 acres up on the current season's record high area. If realised, 2013 will see the biggest US corn acreage for 60 years.
