Profitability rise for Swedish organic dairy farmers
Over the past three months, profitability for Sweden's organic dairy farmers has risen more than for conventional dairy farmers.
This is shown in a new report from the Swedish dairy organisation Svensk Mjölk. Milk income for organic farmers minus feed costs has risen by about SEK0.25 (US$0.04) to on average SEK3 (EUR0.32, US$0.45) per kilo in October and for conventional farmers the key figure has risen by SEK0.15 (US$0.02) to SEK1.95 (US$0.3) per kilo.
The average producer price in October was about SEK5 (US$0.76) kronor for organic milk and SEK3.4 (US$0.52) for conventional milk.
