Slow feed demand limits methionine usage in China
Prices were slightly lower during the week ended October 21.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were marginally lower in the range of RMB31.40-31.90/kg.
Methionine demand remained flat as animal inventories recovered slowly from the high releases during September. Hence prices of dl-methionine softened during the period in review.
With animal feed demand slow, prices of methionine are expected to be soft in the near term.
