Ovostar's Jan-Sep egg production up 32% on-year
 
 

 

Ovostar Union N.V., one of the leading producers of eggs and egg products in Ukraine, announces its operational results for January-September of 2013.

 

As of September 30, 2013, Ovostar's total flock increased by 22% on-year to 4.41 million hens from 3.62 million hens during the same period of 2012. Laying hens flock increased by 41% on-year to 3.74 million hens against last year's 2.65 million hens.

 

Over the reporting period egg production increased by 32% on-year to 648 million eggs from 490 million eggs of the same period of last year. The volume of eggs sold increased by 26% to 410 million from 326 million on-year. Over the nine months of 2013 egg selling price increased by 3% to UAH0.651/piece (US$0.08) compared to UAH0.633/piece (US$0.08) in the nine months of 2012.

 

Over the nine months of 2013, Ovostar processed 199 million eggs against 154 million eggs for the same period of the previous year. As a result, sales volumes of dry and liquid egg products increased by 55% on-year to 1,132 tonnes and by 42% on-year to 4,992 tonnes (9М2012: 733 and 3,506 tons, respectively). Average selling price of dry egg products increased by 6% on-year reaching UAH44.74/kilogramme (US$5.47) while average selling price of liquid egg products stayed almost the same at UAH15.15/kilogramme (US$1.85).
