Argentina's September soy crush up 17 percent; sunseed crush down 22 percent

 

 

Argentina's s September soy crush totalled 3,580,078 tonnes, up 17 percent from the 3,057,683 tonnes crushed in September 2006, according to the Agriculture Secretariat's latest data.

 

Argentina produced 689,190 tonnes of soyoil in September, compared with the 575,626 tonnes produced during the same month a year earlier.

 

Soy pellet output in September totalled 2,766,524 tonnes, up from the 2,385,670 tonnes produced a year ago.

 

Argentina produced a record 47.6 million tonnes of soy in 2006/07, up from 40.5 million tonnes a year earlier, according to the Agriculture Secretariat.

 

Argentina also crushed 192,318 tonnes of sunseeds in September, down 22 percent from 246,494 tonnes the same month a year earlier.

 

Sunseed oil production totalled 78,485 tonnes in September, down from 105,364 tonnes a year earlier.

 

Sunseed pellet output in September was 87,254 tonnes, down from 105,572 tonnes a year earlier.

 

Argentina grew 3.6 million tonnes of sunseeds in 2006/07, down from 3.8 million tonnes a year earlier, according to the Secretariat.
