Haid Group reports growth in aqua feed business in Q3

Guangdong Haid Group Co., Ltd. has seen rapid growth in aqua feed sales in the third quarter of 2013, with demand for aqua feed outstripping supply in Guangdong, Hubei and Jiangsu regions.

Since July of this year, the aquaculture industry had gained pace steadily and the company had sold an average of 10,000 tonnes of feed per day since July. In July and August alone, sales of its aqua feed shot up by 40% compared to the same period of 2012.

In the first half of 2013, the company realised an operating income of RMB7.21 billion (US$1.18 billion), a rise of 14.4% on-year; while the company's feed sales totalled 1.99 million tonnes, an increase of 7.8%. However, its net income in the same period fell by 18.6% to RMB140 million (US$22.97 million).

Haid Group is mainly engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of animal feeds, and involved in the manufacturing of feed machinery, the distribution of micro-ecological preparations, trade of raw materials and agricultural products.
