Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with localities raising and processing tra fish met to establish a common focal point network to manage its export activities, which aims to avoid unfair competitions.

According to the information from the meeting, tra fish industry in Vietnam is falling into a serious crisis with an exported tra fish price decrease by US$1 per kilogramme compared to the moment of newly-developed tra fish 10 years ago. It is resulted from unfair competition of enterprises, multiple tra fish export focal point networks, lack of unity. As a result, tra fish has continuously faced trade barriers.

In face of the above situation, the participants of the conference have recommended the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to build up and submit to the government a decree on tra fish production, procession and export oriented to a common focal point network. The tra fish export committee or council will serve as the common focal point network while clearly identifying tra fish export and procession as a possibly licensed industry.
