Philippines set to upgrade slaughterhouses
The Philippine National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) is to upgrade 12 slaughterhouses.
The NMIS has called on the Department of Agriculture for PHP24 million for the upgrades which it hopes will start next year, according to reports.
Meanwhile, the Philippines may also start re-negotiating with Singapore on pork trade that was stalled two years ago, as the two sides wait for results of the Ebola Reston antigen test done at the facilities of exporter Matutum Meat Packing Corp.
