Tibet sets up grain management office in Lhasa

Tibet officially unveiled its central grain reserve management office Tuesday (Oct 20) in Lhasa with Dorje Tsering, vice chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region and Chen Ke, vice general manager of China Grain Reserves Corporation in attendance.

Tibet's central grain reserve management office will play an important role in promoting grain production and circulation in the region as well as further improving the management system of central grain reserves.

According to Tsering, the management office has the responsibility to react to food risks, disaster relief and other uncertain factors. Related departments at all levels must provide their supports for the office in order to protect production resources, increase agricultural inputs and build up a proper food security system in Tibet.
