South Africa's 2009-10 wheat yield rise to 7,000 tonnes
South Africa delivered 4,000 tonnes of wheat to commercial structures last week, from 3,000 tonnes the previous week, the South African Grain Information Service's weekly harvest report showed Wednesday (October 21).
This brings the total yield since October this year, the beginning of the new season, to 7,000 tonnes.
South Africa's 2009 wheat second production forecast is 2.011 million tonnes, up 20,380 tonnes, or 1.02 percent, from the previous estimate of 1.991 million tonnes, the Crop Estimates Committee said.
