China's Jiangsu's province to construct US$1.3 million pig operation

Jiangsu Province's Gaoyou City began construction on six large-scale pig breeding farms, according to the City Government.

The government would invest RMB 1.6 million (US$210,000) of the project while the farms would account for the rest,

The project is expected to be completed by May 2008, and will supply 10,000 live pigs to the market annually with an output value of RMB13 million and profits of more than RMB3 million.
