Sri Lanka hosts its first poultry show
Sri Lanka hosted its first ever poultry show Monday (October 22, 2007) at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Conventional Centre (SLECC) Colombo.
With more than 100 stalls on display, 'Poultry Show 2007' would serve as a platform for manufacturers and service providers related to the poultry industry to display their latest technology, products and services to a captive market, the country's Financial Times reported.
The 2-day show will feature participants from the USA, UK, France, Austria, Netherlands, Switzerland, Scotland, Germany, Belgium, Malaysia, Nigeria and India and other countries.
A special Scientific Conference cum Seminar will also be conducted during the course of the exhibition on both days highlighting the recent advanced research findings and developments in Poultry Science wherein papers will be presented by renowned poultry scientists, both local and foreign.
Organised by the World Poultry Science Association, Sri Lanka Branch (WPSA) and the Ministry of Livestock Development, the show will provide an opportunity for worldwide manufacturers and service providers to communicate novel, innovative and latest technology, products and services.
Equipment on display will be pullet, layer, broilers and parent stock farms, pre-fabricated houses, ventilation, cooling and heating systems, manure removing, drying and composting systems, egg collection systems, hatcheries and cold rooms.
