Fonterra appoints new director for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa markets

Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited has appointed Pascal De Petrini as managing director of its Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) business unit, effective from the start of November 2013.
The APMEA business unit will oversee consumer operations across the specific regions.
De Petrini will take over from Johan Priem who has been acting managing director APMEA since May 2013.
He possesses more than 25 years' experience across markets in the Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, and has served in senior leadership roles at Danone.
"Pascal is a strong, strategic people leader with a proven track record in delivering significant growth as well as turnarounds in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) businesses. I am delighted that we have someone of Pascal's strengths and experience joining Fonterra," said Fonterra CEO, Theo Spierings.
Meanwhile, Johan Priem will continue to lead the Asia, Middle East and Africa regions towards the end of 2013 before taking over the company's developmental efforts towards food safety and quality as well as supporting the globalisation of Fonterra's corporate social responsibility and sustainability programmes.
He replaces Ian Palliser who is currently serving these roles.
