Prices of vitamin B2 in China generally firm from tight supplies

Prices of vitamin B2 in China remained firm in recent days, as supplies generally remained tight nationwide.


Offer prices of locally produced vitamin B2 (80 percent content) were in the range of RMB158-160/kg, while transacted prices were between RMB156/kg and RMB158/kg, with that of small volume purchases registering close to RMB160/kg.


Transacted prices of locally produced vitamin B2 (80 percent content) in southern regions hovered at RMB158/kg, while that of small volume purchases reached the level of RMB160/kg there.


Meanwhile, transacted prices of locally produced vitamin B2 (96 percent content) edged higher to the level of RMB200/kg, up by RMB1-2/kg from early October.


Offer prices of imported vitamin B2 in northern regions were at the level of RMB165/kg, while transacted prices hovered at RMB162/kg there.


Meanwhile, transacted prices of imported vitamin B2 in some areas within the southern regions hovered at RMB165/kg, up by about RMB2/kg from the earlier period.


Global market supplies of vitamin B2 were tight in recent days, especially for vitamin B2 (80 percent content) where demand generally outstripped supplies, causing its prices to edge higher. Recent offer prices by some major Chinese producers of vitamin B2 to small- and medium-sized traders were close to the level of RMB160/kg. Analysts expected prices of vitamin B2 in China to remain firm in the near term.
