China methionine prices rise further to new highs

Prices of methionine continued to surge during the week ending October 19.

The supply crunch of methionine in China tightened, prompting traders to withhold stocks in view of higher prices. Nonetheless, trade was light as feed millers were reluctant to make procurements unless absolutely necessary as prices have more than doubled to historic highs.

Liquid methionine suppliers resumed price quotations.
