China's corn industry ups value
A bright new spot in China's corn industry is its higher processing capability in the next five years, said a report released from the country's Third Corn Trading Connection Fair. With more corn going into industry use, this has sparked a change in fundamentals for supply-demand, with poor corn sales soon becoming a thing of the past.
An Zhaowei, the deputy minister at the Ministry of Agriculture, together with experts from six regions addressed issues pertaining to corn production and processing. The speakers also touched on marketing strategies for the grain in both international and domestic markets.
China's corn production has increased significantly in the last 20 years from extensive government support. The economic benefit economic and achievements in food safety assurances have propelled gains in the sector.
The livestock and corn processing industry has made great leaps, with over 1,000 types of corn products produced to date.
