Russia's 2005/06 corn export up 21 percent on-year

Russia increased its corn export in the 2005/06 marketing year, Oct 1, 2005 to Sep 30, 2006, by 21 percent to 52,800 tonnes from 43,600 tonnes in the previous marketing year, the federal customs service reported Thursday (Oct 19).

Russia's 2005/06 corn import increased by 27 percent, compared with the previous marketing year, to 301,500 tonnes.

Russia's main corn supplier in the 2005/06 marketing year was Ukraine with 238,700 tonnes.
