India's poultry feed prices down, led by fall in soymeal
India's poultry feed prices went marginally down by INR30-40 (US$0.56-0.75) for a 30-kilogramme and 50-kilogramme bag despite too much fluctuation in prices of its key ingredients.
A fall in soymeal mainly led feed prices down, said Aditya Mishra, a market expert. After witnessing some recovery last week, soymeal eased by INR380 (US$7.9) and quoted at INR2,870 (US$53.5) a quintal on Wednesday (Oct.17). Arrivals of new crop and stocks offloaded by stockists in the market pulled soymeal prices down, he said. The industry is likely to witness some good buying in the near future, he said.
Bajra eased further by INR15 (US$0.28) and sold at INR1,135 (US$21.2); corn ruled at INR1,425 (US$26.6), INR105 (US$2) up from previous level. DCP went up by INR1 (US$0.02) and went for INR35 (US$0.65) a kilogramme, while fish oil increased by INR10 (US$0.19) and quoted at INR82 (US$1.53) a litre. Some good demand pushed corn, DCP and fish oil upwards, said market sources.
After ruling flat for almost 10 days, prices of poultry feed products decreased by INR30-40 (US$0.56-0.75) for a 30-kilogramme and 50-kilogramme bag.
Prices of broiler concentrate feed and broiler starter mash went down by INR40 (US$0.75) each and quoted at INR1,860 (US$35) and INR1,440 (US$27) for a 50-kilogramme bag, respectively. "Broiler pre-starter concentrate 30%" eased by INR40 (US$0.75) and sold at INR1,600 (US$30) for a 30-kilogramme bag while layer concentrate quoted at INR1,400 (US$26) for a 50-kilogramme bag, INR30 (US$0.56) down from previous level. Prices of Pre-lay mash and broiler finisher decreased by INR40 (US$0.75) each and quoted at INR980 (US$18.3) and INR1,380 (US$26) for a 50-kilogramme bag, respectively.
Meanwhile, reduced off-take pulled egg and broiler down, on Wednesday (Oct.17). Egg went down by INR0.16 (US$0.003) at INR3.06 (US$0.06) while broiler eased by INR10 (US$0.19) and quoted at IR64-65 (US$1.19-1.2) a kilogramme; chick improved by INR3 (US$0.06) to INR20-21 (US$0.37-0.39).
