China meat and poultry production rises 5% in 2012
China's National Bureau of Statistics announces that the country's pork, beef, mutton and poultry production has reached 57.28 million tonnes in the first three quarters of 2012, an on-year rise of 5%.
Of the total meat output, 37.54 million tonnes was pork, growing 5.2% on-year.
In the first three quarters of 2012, the country's live pig inventory reached 468.22 million, growing 1.9% on-year. Meanwhile, 492.98 million pigs were for sale, growing 5.1% on-year.
