Russian approves chicken imports from 18 US firms
Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance announced Monday (Oct 18) it had cleared the way for US chicken meat imports by 18 out of 33 inspected companies.
These are preliminary results of inspections held during October 4-16, the service said in a statement.
"All 18 companies will be recommended for inclusion into the list of companies authorised to import meat to Russia," the service said.
The first US poultry consignments after an eight-month pause following Russia's request of chlorine-free treatment of meat were supplied to Russia in September.
