Finland's Parihta to import halal meat, poultry
In Finland, a company called Parihta was established to import halal meat and poultry from Denmark and Germany for domestic processing.
At the moment, there are no abattoirs in Finland that can supply large amounts of halal meat. So far, Parihta has supplied halal products to retail chain Kesko's hypermarkets in the Jyväskylä area, but the company is looking for a nationwide market.
Initially, Parihta supplies chicken but later on, when it finds a producer partner, the product range will be expanded to include beef and lamb.
